Seeking Water
In December, the City of Hagerstown withdrew its previous offer to appeal the Water Department's denial of access to public water for the Hagerstown City Council. This effectively eliminates the possibility of using public water to supply the sprinkler and sanitary needs of the expansion. We are now exploring the purchase and installation of a water reservoir system, including an assembly-grade pump. While previous estimates placed the cost of this system at around $600,000, we are exploring ways to reduce the installed cost by more than $300,000. We continue to explore options and hope to provide an update by April 15th.
Important Dates
March 31, 2026
CES (our civil engineer) is preparing a master plan detailing the current site, the 2026 expansion, and possible future projects (e.g., adding an auditorium). This plan is not binding. It is intended to demonstrate that prayerful consideration has been employed as we locate and resource plan for current and future needs. Post-Congregational Meeting Update: The initial draft master plan has been reviewed, edited, and discussed, and has been returned to CES for updates. We expect a completed plan by March 31, 2026.
April 30, 2026
A 2-D floor plan for the expansion will be available for presentation and congregational review. The Elders will present this drawing, requesting feedback and suggestions, to a variety of groups, including Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Senior Ministry, and during the 2nd Hour.
